AAS Adjustable Air Suspension System
This electronically controlled suspension operates on all wheels and features a continuously
variable damping system. It enables agile and dynamic driving without sacrificing ride comfort.
The most discerning test drivers travel the world to test the effectiveness of the adjustable air
suspension on the most complex test circuits. From the Nardo high-speed circuit, the northern
loop of the Nürburgring, the test drivers were enthusiastic about this new technology from the outset.
Each air spring in the adjustable air suspension acts on a separate wheel. The variable air volume in
the spring struts changes the spring rate and ride height. As the vehicle moves, the system uses
sensors on the body and drive axle to determine the current driving conditions. For example, if the
vehicle sways violently on uneven road surfaces, the damping can be adjusted instantly. The benefits
are immediately noticeable at the first turn—body roll and pitch are minimized. The new suspension
system's spring vibration and travel are always optimal, ensuring a remarkably smooth ride even on
bumpy roads.
