Appearance

In terms of appearance, the eighth-generation Camry has a dual-style design of luxury version and sports version. Both design styles are derived from Toyota's latest "Keen Look" design language. The luxury version adopts a huge trapezoidal horizontal grille, the body is streamlined, the waistline is lower, and the extended rear of the roof increases the headroom in the rear row.

The sports version adopts a three-layer grille front face, and for the first time adopts a two-color body and a "pure black" cabin design, and the rear adopts a double-sided four-exhaust pipe shape. In addition, the hybrid version is based on the luxury version, and its identity is highlighted by the light blue front and rear lights.

The hybrid version has a new sports version shape, which maintains the main design of the current fuel sports version as a whole, and only reveals its identity as a hybrid version in some details. Specifically, the front face of the car adopts an X shape, the interior of its grille is made of black mesh material, and the central Toyota LOGO is embellished with blue elements, which has a more prominent visual effect.

Interior

The interior of the eighth-generation Camry won the Ward's 2018 Top Ten Interiors Evaluation. In terms of interior, the eighth-generation Camry has changed a lot. The interiors of the three models are the same, except for the decorative panels on the top of the glove box and the decorative panels near the gear lever. The interior design is asymmetrical, with the center console showing a Y-shaped curve. The soft interior surfaces and metal decorative panels in the car are made of high-grade materials. The instrument decorative panels and console decorative panels are firstly made of three-dimensional surface decoration technology (TOM), which visually creates a three-dimensional effect. The new seats of the eighth-generation Camry adopt a three-dimensional sports style, and the seat cushions are made of new springs and high-density and high-damping polyurethane materials.

It is worth mentioning that Toyota's first three-screen interconnection system installed in domestic models is reflected in the eighth-generation Camry. The 10-inch color head-up display (HUD), 8-inch/9-inch [11] central control touch screen, and 7-inch instrument panel LCD screen can realize information linkage and provide rich and comprehensive high-definition information. The HUD can directly display road conditions information in front of the windshield, and the driver can read the information without lowering his head.

The original edge physical buttons have also been adjusted to touch buttons. At the same time, the UI interface design of its in-vehicle multimedia system has also been upgraded, and it is equipped with a AutoNavi navigation system. In addition, through the LCD screen in the center of the instrument, we found that the original tire pressure alarm function has been upgraded to tire pressure display, which has improved driving safety to a certain extent.

Configuration

In terms of configuration, the eighth-generation Camry is equipped with Toyota's latest Toyota Safety Sense intelligent safety, including PCS pre-collision safety system, LDA lane departure warning system, AHB automatic adjustment high beam system and DRCC dynamic radar cruise control system, providing safer driving assistance. In addition, 12 various types of equipment detect driving environment, such as BSM lane-merging blind spot monitoring system, reversing blind spot warning, PVM panoramic monitoring system, etc.

In terms of external configuration, the 2019 new car is equipped with panoramic sunroof, UV-proof glass, noise-reducing front windshield, aluminum alloy wheels, smart hidden wipers, electric folding exterior mirrors (with heating, electric adjustment), and underbody air deflector. In addition, high and low beam integrated LED headlights, LED daytime running lights, light-sensing intelligent headlight system, LED front fog lights, and LED combination taillights are also available on all models.

Power

In terms of power, the eighth-generation Camry is equipped with a new 2.5L Dynamic Force Engine. The new 2.5L Dynamic Force Engine has a maximum output of 154kw and a maximum torque of 250Nm. Compared with the previous generation, the power is increased by 15%, the full-range torque is increased by nearly 10%, the fuel economy is increased by 25%, the comprehensive fuel consumption is only 6.0 liters per 100 kilometers, and the particulate matter emissions are reduced by 60%; in terms of transmission system, the 2.5L engine is matched with a new Direct Shift 8-speed automatic transmission.

The thermal efficiency of the hybrid model is as high as 41%, equipped with a new generation of parallel E-CVT, and the comprehensive fuel consumption is reduced to less than 4.1 liters per 100 kilometers. In 2018, the 2.5L hybrid engine won the title of Ward's Top Ten Engines in the World.
